The Telegraph reports that Donald Trump's visit to the UK has been canceled. The trip unraveled after Trump retweeted islamophobic videos posted by a British fascist group, then harangued Prime Minister Theresa May on Twitter when she issued mild condemnation of his actions.
More forceful in his condemnation was London mayor Sadiq Kahn, who openly said Trump was unwelcome in his city.
The trip was never officially scheduled, but May's invitation had riled many in Britain, where Trump is widely loathed. A scaled-down "working visit" was mooted as a compromise to keep Trump away from the highly symbolic and prestigious trappings of an official state visit, The Telegraph reports, without him losing face. But that now appears unlikely.
