Ceramic blobfish

Nosey Mungo, aka Helen Burgess, is a ceramic artist who has created a menagerie of delightful creatures, not least of which is this charming blobfish.

It turns out that making ceramic blobfish is quite complicated and difficult.

Sunglasses on…the blob fish have come out extra hot pink this time . I'm not sure exactly why. I did change the firing slightly to ramp up quicker and the result seems to be more intense colours in some creatures! . These will be available in Monday's online shop update. Here are the deets: • New animals will be added to my Etsy shop at 4pm UK time on Monday 13th April. • Due to the current lockdown, shipping will be to the UK only (sorry!) • I'll keep my Etsy shop open for a couple of days. Anything that hasn't sold will be rolled over to the next shop update.

The blob fish brothers from a few years ago. I'm in the middle of making another trio but have to admit, they're testing my patience! I'd forgotten how complicated they are and now regret starting three. My determined nature will get me there. I'm finding that I can't exactly match the shape of previous versions. This is actually a good thing as it demonstrates the quality of handmade and that no two animals are ever the same, despite my efforts!
