Tokyo hotel apologizes for "Japanese only" and "foreigners only" elevator signs

A Tokyo hotel that placed notices reading "Japanese only" and "foreigners only" on elevators doors has removed them after people objected.

Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu said in a statement it "had no intention to discriminate" against foreigners. The hotel said it only wanted to keep Japanese and foreigners separated due to Covid concerns. — Read the rest
